Rachana sharir is one of the fundamental disciplines of Ayurveda which occupies a significant position in Ayurvedic medical education. It is a foundation, upon which the understanding of Ayurvedic medicine and its clinical practice is built and it also connects the classical wisdom of Ayurveda with the scientific study of human anatomy. Ayurveda Sharir Rachana concepts such as Sharir components, garbha sharir, asthi sharir, sandhi sharir, srotas sharir, ashaya sharir, marma sharir, shira & dhamni sharir, indriya sharir, Utmangiya sharir are provide a unique prospective on the organization of the body and its function. It also plays an important role in developing clinical skills, knowledge of anatomical landmarks, muscles, joints, nerves, blood vessels, organs and anatomical relationships helps students to understand clinical examination and therapeutic procedures.
The department of Rachana sharir, well developed and placed at 3rd floor of academic block at the Government Ayurveda college and Hospital Varanasi. The department has adequate infrastructure and facilities to support teaching, practical training, demonstrations and academic learning.Page

- Faculty Rooms -There are Four rooms for Teaching staff.
- One Museum for the display and study of specimen and Teaching materials, and having more than 200 charts, models, bones, skeleton.
- Dissection Hall with deep freezer room for practical anatomical teaching and demonstration.
- Tutorial Room for small group teaching, tutorials and interactive academic sessions.
- Store Room is used for instruments’ dissection related material, consumables and other academic resources.
- Library- the department library has more than 50 books and journals available for students and teaching staff
