KRIYA SHARIR

Department of KRIYA SHARIR is milestone and it is one of the most important pillars of Govt. Ayurvedic College and Hospital Varanasi. It was founded by Prof. Harihar Nath Upadhyaya, when department was Shaarir, he took the responsibility as First Head of Department and subsequently handed over, the torch of wisdom & responsibility to Prof. S.P. Mishra, Prof. A.K. Mishra, Prof. A.K. Sonkar. As a principal Prof. J R Yadav also helped take the department to greater heights. Presently Associate Professor Dr. Savita Choudhry (M.D.,PhD) is carrying the torch of success since 17 June 2022. With the vision and endeavour the department is progressing in various fields.

The Department conducts various Camps related to Prakriti, Life style obesity etc. to help general public and create awareness. The Department has also procured the “Nadi Trangani” Machine which helps to the patients from the various clinical departments and also used research proposes. She along with her dedicated team of faculty members to take department to new heights of excellence. The department of Kriya Sharir has fully functional and well equipped Haematology lab, Human lab, and Experimental lab, ECG, PFT, Museum with sufficient numbers of charts and models. In which demonstration occurs of various experiments related to clinical examination of various system like Respiration, CVS and CNS

Department also has departmental library with sufficient numbers of books. Department also has computer, printer with internet facility and also equipped with Wi-Fi facility. From session 2021-22 Every year 75 students of BAMS are admitted and undergoing teaching & training in Kriya Sharir. We have adopted various recent modern techniques of teaching & training with use of e-learning animation skill development as well as OSPE/OSCE. Department organized National and international Seminar, Symposium, CME, Workshop, Poster & Model, Competition, Quiz competition and Weekly Seminar for over all development of faculty & students.
