Introduction

The Department of Prasuti and Stree Rog is imparting Teaching and Training to Post-Graduate (M.S. Ayurveda), Undergraduate (BAMS) Courses. Various Research Activities are being carried out by the M.S. Scholars and also the activities of the Department include providing Ayurvedic Medical Care and treatment for various gynecological disorders of females like Anartava, Artava Kshaya, Artava Dushti, Asrugdar, bandhyatwa, Garbhashaya Shotha, Cysts related to Beeja Granthi, Shroni Shoth (Pelvic Inflammation), Rajah Kruchrata (Dysmenorrhea), etc.

The Prasuti Section of the Department provides Ayurvedic Medical Care and treatment for various conditions of pregnant women like Garbhini Parikshana (ANC), Garbhini Paricharya, Prasava Karma, Sutika Paricharya (PNC) and Mahila Kalyana. Various Ayurvedic procedures like Uttara Basti (Vaginal, Intrauterine, Intravesicle), Kshara Karma, Yoni Prakshalan, Yoni Pichu, Anuvasan Basti to female patients as a part of treatment are being performed.

Various surgical procedures such as EB, Polypectomy and Caesarean Section are also carried out frequently and contraception like Cu-T is advised to patients for family planning purposes.

Dept. is playing special role in the prevention and management of lifestyle disorders of women like PCOD, diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorder & Infertility, menstrual abnormalities etc through departmental OPD and also giving regular advice related to Pathya-Apthya, Yoga Chikitsa and meditation.

ACHIEVEMENT –

Entire Staff of the department has been contributed actively in COVID 19 duties in past year’s pandemic.

This year total 09 students selected in the post of medical officer from our department and also 10 students selected for AMO post.

Facilities

There are two OPDs (one opd dedicated to prasuti tantra-obstetrics and one opd dedicated to stri roga- gynaecological disorders) running with attached examination room to keep privacy of the patient & for easy checkup. Dealing with menstrual irregularities (PCOD), Bandhyatva, Shwet pradar, Rakta pradar.

There is separate well equipped museum room with sufficient numbers of charts and models for practical demonstration to the UG and PG scholars.

In our department we have Operation theatre, Labor room, general and private ward facility for patients admission and Examination room where various types of medical procedures are performed and for those procedures medical equipment and instruments are also available available. Ayurveda treatment procedures like Uttarbasti, Matrabasti, Yoni prakshalan & yoni pichu, yoni puran etc are performed.
